Our Philosophy

At KCS Early Learning Centre it is our goal to provide a warm, supportive atmosphere where children and families feel accepted, loved, secure and happy. High quality care, based on the building of healthy and sincere educator/child relationships is promoted in every aspect of a child’s time in the centre. We use the B.C. Early Learning Framework and ECEBC Code of Ethics as our guide to practice, and thus we see all children as capable and full of potential. We recognize that each child is unique, so we strive to provide an inclusive program that is respectful of individual developmental levels and abilities. We aim to create an environment that will nurture the mind, soul and spirit while supporting social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. We believe that all children deserve to learn and grow in an environment that honors their natural desire to play, explore and discover the world around them both within the indoor classroom and through daily outdoor experiences.

At KCS Early Learning Centre we intentionally model Christian values and ethics. We believe that it is primarily the parent’s role to provide faith-based education. However, we enrich our programs with developmentally appropriate Biblical contents such as Bible stories, songs, and mealtime prayers. We may also talk about Christian living and faith. We acknowledge the diverse community we are part of and believe that all children and families deserve to be treated with respect, kindness, and compassion. We welcome families of all cultural and faith backgrounds. The ELC also understands the importance of working towards reconciliation with Indigenous People and offers indigenous programming for the children introduced and lead by our own indigenous educator.

Our KCS Early Learning Centre has been approved as part of the $10/day daycare program. Please see this link for more and continued information.
